In the United States, Latino refers to non-Anglo-Americans who come sleep in the United States of America and are of Hispanic background, typically Spanish speaking people. A feminine form of the word is Latina.

Virtually all often a term Latino is restricted to immigrants from either Spanish speaking countries within Latin America and their descendants. Our contries denizen of Brazilian origin are periodically considered Latinos, potentially though their language is Portuguese. Occasionally define Latino when too including Spanish and Portuguese people in United states of america. Denizen of the French-speaking areas of Haiti, French Guiana, and a French West Indies are generally non considered to become Latinos; it is often thought to stand sir thomas more around green unfeeling by owning English-speaking West Indians than they run by using residents of Mexico and Central and South America.

A U.S. Census Bureau defines "Hispanic or Latino" when with the background inside the Spanish-speaking Latin U.s. united states or even existence of actual Spanish ancestry. So immigrants from either Spain come considered "Hispanic or Latino", however people from either Brazil are not. A label besides so includes ethnically Spanish population sustaining roots in a United States, like the New Mexico Spanish and Louisiana Cajuns of Spanish origin.

Latino should non exist as confused by having Ladino (the Spanish-depending language traditionally spoken by Sephardic Jews) or Ladin (a Rhaeto-Romance language spoken in the Italian Alps), even though a origin for completely 3 list is the equivalent.
